Startup TechWire Opens Fall Submissions to Innovation Guide
WILMINGTON, N.C. -- Startup TechWire (www.startuptechwire.com), reporting on business, innovation, and education for America's vibrant startup community, has opened fall 2017 submissions to its Innovation Guide. The entrepreneurial resource provides free listings of individuals, businesses, and organizations supporting America’s innovation community.

“As the number of entrepreneurs grows in emerging hot spots in North Carolina like Wilmington and Winston-Salem as well in more established cities like Charlotte and Raleigh, they need access to resources that may not be as readily available as they may be in Silicon Valley or Boston,” Dave Menzies, editor/publisher, said.

Menzies, who mentors startups on raising their profiles with investors, customers, and employees, added the Innovation Guide to Startup TechWire in response to entrepreneurs asking for referrals to vendors and other resources to help them address business needs. Listings in the Guide are free for businesses and organizations ranging from law firms to IT providers to economic development agencies.

Approximately 27 million people in the United States -- nearly a fifth of working adults -- identify as entrepreneurs. Many of these are solopreneurs, running a business alone without employees in order to stay lean and nimble to adapt to change.

Startup TechWire began publishing as a means to generate extra visibility and web traffic for clients of Menzies’ PR consultancy, Innovative Public Relations. Peers in the PR field began asking if they could send their clients’ news items, and the publication grew, with Menzies utilizing his years of experience as a print newspaper editor to review and edit submissions and contribute original articles.

Word of mouth generated interest beyond the publication’s initial focus on North and South Carolina, with Startup TechWire now covering the entire U.S.

Fresh, original articles and user-submitted news items are updated daily, complimented by feeds from respected media sources.
