Integrated Biometrics Congratulates MOSA Technology Solutions on FBI Contracts

SPARTANBURG, S.C. -- Integrated Biometrics, LLC (IntegratedBiometrics.com), developers of the most compact, lightweight and energy-efficient FBI-certified fingerprint scanners in the world, congratulates strategic partner MOSA Technology Solutions on its recent announcement on being awarded several new FBI contracts. The contracts center on MOSA providing a variety of new biometric capture devices and solutions which incorporate the Watson Mini and Kojak fingerprint scanners from Integrated Biometrics.

Giving You An Unfair Advantage
“We’re thrilled that MOSA Technology Solutions has secured this business with the FBI, and that our products are going to help support the next generation of the largest criminal fingerprint database in the world,” Integrated Biometrics CEO Steve Thies said.

According to a MOSA announcement about the contracts, the FBI recently launched Next Generation IAFIS (NGI) replacing the original IAFIS System launched in July, 1999. NGI holds criminal histories for more than 70 million subjects, along with 34 million civil prints. Included in the database are fingerprints from 73,000 known and suspected terrorists processed by the U.S. and international law enforcement agencies. NGI provides automated fingerprint and latent search capabilities, electronic image storage, and electronic exchange of fingerprints to more than 18,000 law enforcement agencies and other authorized criminal justice partners 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

The FBI’s Biometric Center of Excellence (BCOE) in Clarksburg, West Virginia explores and advances the use of new, enhanced, biometric technologies for integration into standard operations. Every day, the BCOE strives to deliver state-of-the-art biometric tools and technologies to law enforcement and intelligence personnel working in communities around the world.

The Watson Mini is the world’s smallest FBI Appendix F Certified two-finger roll scanner. The device utilizes Integrated Biometrics’ patented Light Emitting Sensor (LES) Technology for a more compact, less power consuming biometric fingerprint for mobile applications.

Released earlier this year, the Kojak FAP 60 Appendix F Certified ten print and roll livescan scanner requires minimal power for hours of operation, ideal for laptops, tablets and mobile phones. Kojak enables fast enrollment and verification of large groups of people in any environment, with the capability of capturing ten prints in ten seconds or less.

Kojak is designed to meet the FBI’s globally accepted Appendix F certification for enrollment and identification standards with applications for national ID, border patrol, state department visa, employment background checks, criminal and terrorist database purposes. Also using LES technology, Kojak’s small size, weight, and ability to function seamlessly without the need for a wired power source or low lighting conditions makes it the first truly mobile ten-print enrollment and verification sensor in the world, generating interest as governments and businesses look to new biometrics technologies to enhance security, productivity, and convenience in today’s increasingly connected world.
