Financial Services CIO Joins Fortium

DALLAS, TX & CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Fortium Partners, the world’s fastest-growing provider of IT turnaround and leadership services, announced today that financial services and real estate pro Eddie Bruce has joined the Southeast practice. Bruce brings more than two decades of technology leadership with some of the world’s largest and fastest growing financial services, real estate and banking titans.  He will be located in Charlotte, and will partner with companies across North and South Carolina.

Businesses bring on Bruce for his incomparable depth of experience managing IT turnarounds, rapid growth phases, technology performance improvements and complex systems integrations across a very large, multi-national space. Recently he was responsible for managing the Global Engineering Transition Planning team for Citco Technology Management, a group of independent financial service providers serving the world’s elite hedge funds, where he reduced the overall timeline for solution designs by 50% and developed technology lifecycle and roadmap processes to guide the introduction of new technology into the existing infrastructure, all in less than six months. Before Citco, he was the CIO for Lincoln Harris, a full-service commercial real estate company with billions of dollars in assets, where he led IT through an astounding 300% growth within a 90-day period.

“Expanding to global markets is easier than ever before, and the opportunities are ripe for businesses of all sizes. But so few companies are equipped to handle sudden, unanticipated growth spurts or the inevitable marriage of old technology with the new,” said Tim McCracken, Fortium Chairman and CEO. “Eddie brings a storied background of major transitions, mergers and complex transactions, much of which happened when capital was sparse and the digital landscape was evolving. He can show almost any business how to work lean, light and fast to stay ahead of the pack.”

“The hard truth is that there’s a tremendous amount of pressure to minimize operating expenses even as corporations and consumers embrace exciting new digital platforms,” said Bruce. “Businesses really have to think about how to make the most impactful investment with IT dollars during times of rapid change, whether it’s product sales, customer service or research and development. Joining Fortium is a critical move for me because I’m able to share my knowledge with and receive knowledge from dozens of other CIOs who have helped clients through unique challenges.”

“Eddie is one of the first partners to join our Charlotte practice, and he’s already a pillar to the Southeast practice,” said Richard Harris, Area Managing Partner. “I look forward to seeing the impact he’ll make on our clients’ success.”

Earlier in his career, Bruce served for 15 years in multiple technology leadership roles with global banking companies Bank of America, Wachovia and First Union National Bank.

He holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Civil Engineering from The University of North Carolina at Charlotte and a Master’s of Science in Civil Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
