GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Central Piedmont Community College's (CPCC) Construction Technologies Division has been selected as NC811's Safe Digging Partner for October 2015. In early 2015, instructors within the Construction Technologies Division incorporated the online Pipes Plus training as a homework assignment in several classes such as OSHA, Pre-Planning and Construction Management, Intro to Construction and Core Curriculum Basic Safety.

"CPCC has been a beta site for using the curriculum to educate future excavators. Students either log in remotely or in a classroom setting via iPads to take the training," stated Ann Rushing, Education Manager for NC811. "This is truly the type of Safe Digging Partner that NC811 is looking for: an organization with a commitment to educating the future excavators of tomorrow."

"NC811's Safe Digging Partner program is a great initiative. It helps educate students about digging around buried utilities, as well as making the call to 811," said Steve Corriher, Division Director at CPCC. "CPCC is committed to preparing the students to enter into the construction workforce with all the tools they need for their toolbox."
