Award-Winning INI Power Systems Presents at AUSA Innovator’s Corner

WASHINGTON, D.C. & RESEARCH TRIANGLE, N.C. -- Award-winning tactical hybrid solutions provider INI Power Systems was featured at the Association of the United States Army (AUSA) 2015 Annual Meeting & Exposition's Innovator's Corner on 12 OCT 15. Matthew Mendez, INI Power Vice President, Operational and Future Energy, gave the presentation “Lightweight and Ruck-Packable 500W, 28VDC Multi-Fuel Generator” at the event designed to proactively identify disruptive and innovative technologies and approaches to address the Army’s top challenges.

“There’s a common theme across all branches of our military related to capability gaps, and that’s the need for 100% power insurance, less weight, less footprint, and reduced JP-8/F-24 fuel consumption,” Mendez explained, adding, “It’s overcoming the tyranny of distance, which is hindered by burdensome and excessive resupply convoys, by finding efficient ways to have reliable energy and resupply functions for deployed expeditionary forces in austere locations and remote, unimproved environments.”

The Innovator’s Corner is a new program introduced at the 2014 AUSA Annual Meeting & Exposition.  Since its inception, the Innovators Corner has introduced over 50 innovative technologies to Government and military organizations such as the U.S. Army Rapid Equipping Force and the Chief of Staff’s Strategic Studies Group.

The AUSA Annual Meeting & Exposition is one of the largest land warfare expositions and professional development forums in the world, consisting of informative presentations, panel discussions on pertinent military and national security subjects, workshops and important AUSA business meetings. The three day event draws over 26,000 attendees and includes over 500 industry and military exhibits occupying over 250,000 net square feet of exhibit space.

This is one of several nationally renowned events featuring INI Power’s real-time innovations that bridge worldwide power and Operational Energy capability gaps for autonomous and hybrid operations.  The company recently showcased its 500 Watt, 1kW, 2kW, and 5kW One Man Portable auto starting solutions at the Modern Day Marine expo September 22-24 in Quantico, Virginia, and will be participating in the Defense Innovation conference December 1-3 in Austin, Texas.

INI Power’s pioneering Flex Fuel Generators with OMNIVORE™ engine technology convert commercial, off-the-shelf gasoline-only generator systems into flexible and versatile multi-fuel (MF) systems.  This makes them capable of operation with a large array of compressed and liquid fuels, including medium distillate fuels in support of the Department of Defense’s JP-8/F-24 Single Fuel Forward requirements.

The agnostic fuel architecture of INI Power products (JP-8, F-24 “NATO”, gasoline, propane, methanol, isopropanol, etc.) allows for the use of any fuel, in any AOR, in any combination, thereby allowing Warfighters to generate instantaneous power (no start up time) from any military logistical fuel, in addition to any fuels available off of the local economy, including contaminated fuels typically found in remote AORs for a wide-ranging number of mission sets.
