CertiTrek Adds Long-Term Care to Family of Top Industry-Recognized Certifications

DURHAM, N.C. – CertiTrek, representing the world’s top industry-recognized certification companies, announces the addition of the Certification for Long-Term Care (CLTC) to its family of quality pathways to higher salaries and new careers. The CLTC designation gives recent college grads and business veterans training in the important, challenging, and growing field of long term care planning. “The impact long-term care during retirement has on finances and families can be enormous. The CLTC training ensures that professionals in financial services, insurance, law and accounting are able to take a holistic approach to protecting their clients,” CertiTrek President Brad Crump said.

The CLTC designation can be obtained in one of two ways: an intensive, two-day, live interactive course taught by experienced instructors, or online. Both options require students to pass a comprehensive, proctored exam.

The integrity of the course is evidenced by the granting of continuing education credits in all 50 U.S. states, as well as by the CFP Board of Standards.

CLTC also offers additional training options including continuing education (CE) and non-CE presentations on various topics related to long-term care planning and the proper use of insurance.  A one-day Immersion program couples LTC planning principles with practical applications for financial advisors and insurance sales professionals.

“Financial and insurance firms who’ve sponsored CLTC training see their advisors as better able to protect the emotional, physical and financial well-being of their clients and their families. Students learn how to create appropriate plans and recommend appropriate funding solutions,” CLTC General Manager Jennifer White said, adding, “Our training has been shown to not only increase LTC competency, but it also improves performance across other disciplines.”

The CLTC planning model and its training programs have been endorsed by leading financial service companies including Ameriprise, Genworth, John Hancock, Nationwide, Northwestern Mutual, OneAmerica, and Thrivent, to name a few.

Approximately 4,000 people participate in CLTC training each year, of which 1,200 earn their CLTC designation, which is recognized by major insurance carriers and Broker Dealers.

The CLTC is the fifth respected, comprehensive, and relevant certification company CertiTrek has acquired, nurtured, and transformed in established and emerging industries, joining:

The Institute for Divorce Financial Analysts (IDFA™)
The Certified Wireless Network Professional (CWNP®)
The Specialty Certified Medical Assistant (SCMA®)
