WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- The Inmar Digital Health Challenge 2015 powered by Flywheel will run from April 30 to July 20, 2015. Participants will submit innovative digital health-related business ideas for a chance to win a $25,000 cash prize and potential future funding. Participants in the Inmar Digital Health Challenge will propose solutions to address the following question: How can disparate data sources be leveraged to discover health-related correlations and insights that enable individuals and their support groups/families to collaborate, monitor and improve a patient’s health?

“Digital health” involves the convergence of technology, health and healthcare and is one of the fastest growing business sectors. The Inmar Digital Health Challenge powered by Flywheel seeks a solution that leverages currently available technologies—including wireless devices, hardware sensors, mobile and body area networks, health information technology, social media and others— that can be combined in new ways to make medicine more personalized, precise, and accessible while reducing cost and inefficiency.

“We are looking for the best ideas in this exploding space,” said David Mounts, Chairman and CEO of Inmar. “By putting this challenge out to the digital health community and engaging the brightest and most entrepreneurial minds, we have the opportunity to find the next big innovation in digital health.”

Flywheel will provide workspace for selected challenge teams during the finalists briefing and final pitch weekend, and organize resources and mentors to help each team develop their concepts and commercialization plans.

Inmar, which operates intelligent commerce networks in healthcare, supply chain and promotions, will sponsor the Challenge, with its experts serving among other mentors and judges. Inmar is one of the fastest growing major employers in Winston-Salem’s Wake Forest Innovation Quarter.

Inmar’s Healthcare Network offers a variety of application suites that use technology, data analytics and focused services to improve healthcare operations and consumer health states. Inmar is a leading provider of technology-driven pharmacy management solutions for more than 40,000 retail pharmacies, as well as manufacturers, wholesalers and health systems.
