Junior League of Raleigh and Belk Present 4th Annual Fashion Forward

RALEIGH, N.C. -- The Junior League of Raleigh, a nonprofit organization focused on training women as community leaders and volunteers, is partnering with Belk, the nation’s largest privately owned and maintained department store, for the 4th annual Fashion Forward event. This spring fashion benefit will celebrate the season’s must-have trends on Sunday, Mar. 8 at 6 p.m., at Belk Crabtree Valley Mall, located at 4325 Glenwood Avenue. All event ticket proceeds will support the Junior League of Raleigh in its community partnerships, volunteer service and leadership training.

The year’s event will bring a touch of Southern California style to Raleigh.  Featuring fashions by Chip & Pepper California, Belk has combined authentic SoCal styles with their colorful Southeastern vibe to create free-spirited designer pieces that capture the coastal  spirit.

Guests will enjoy hors d’oeuvres including crab cakes and scallops by former royal chef Darren McGrady, a signature pineapple upside down cocktail by Sugarlands Distilling Company, and pecan pie tartlets by Kings of North Hills Cookies, throughout the evening.

“We are excited to be partnering with Belk for a fourth consecutive year for a night of fashion, food, and prizes to benefit our local community,” said Leslie Young, Fashion Forward Event Chair.

In addition, the League will debut Youth Forward, a contest featuring designs created by youth from four of the League's community partners: AventWest Children’s Mentoring, Brentwood Boys & Girls Club, Heritage Park Community Center and StepUP Ministry. The designs will be on display at Belk for a week leading up to the event, and the public will be able to vote at Belk for the winning design for a small donation. The winner, to be announced during the Fashion Forward event, will benefit from the voting proceeds.

Tickets are on sale now -- general admission tickets are $25 each and include food, drinks from Sugarlands Distilling Company and a Belk gift card.
