Local Tech Company Launches Spiffy App

MORRISVILLE, N.C. -- Local technology company Spiffy officially launched today, releasing an app that allows Triangle-area customers to conveniently have their car washed at the time and place of their choosing. Developed for people who value their time, loathe inefficiency and love a spotless car, Spiffy merges the flexibility of an on-demand mobile service with the reliability of seasoned technicians and professionals. Available for iOS and Android devices, the app not only enables users to schedule on-site mobile professional car wash in seconds, but provides them with the ability to track, review and even pay for their service right from their smartphone.

“Spiffy redefines the entire car washing experience,” said Spiffy Founder and CEO Karl Murphy. “Consumers don’t want to spend time at the car wash — but they do want their car to always look great. That’s why Spiffy brings the car wash to the client, offering consumers a faster, more convenient car cleaning experience that doesn’t interfere with their daily routine.”

Murphy experienced a good deal of success with a limited mobile service at Carolina Auto Spa, a car wash company that he owns and operates in the Triangle. Based on that initial success, Murphy approached Triangle serial entrepreneur and ChannelAdvisor CEO Scot Wingo with the idea for Spiffy; Wingo quickly came aboard as an investor and executive chairman one year ago.

“With on-demand mobile service being one of the hottest areas in venture investment, the time is right for the $8 billion car wash industry to be disrupted by a company like Spiffy,” said Wingo. “We’re excited to launch in an entrepreneurial-friendly environment like the Triangle, and look forward to expanding into more metro areas based on our anticipated success in this market.”

Spiffy is already serving clients at many office locations in the Triangle area, the newest being Bank of America Plaza. Spiffy has plans to add services at the PNC building and BB&T building in the coming weeks.

To get started, first-time Spiffy users can follow five easy steps. Initial account setup takes about 2-5 minutes; appointment scheduling after the one-time account setup takes only about 30 seconds. The full, convenient, five-step process is outlined below:

    Download the Spiffy app.
Create an account or login with a Facebook.
Share the location, make and model of your vehicle.
    Schedule and choose your service.
    We Spiffy. You Smile.

As part of the company’s launch, Spiffy is offering $20 off any of its services with code “Launch14” through Nov. 31. Spiffy is also offering its No. 2 Spiffy, an inside and outside service, for only $29 with the “Launch29” code, which is up to $30 off its regular price.
