NeoNova Builds, Donates Bicycles to Spokes Group Charleston

RALEIGH, N.C. & CHARLESTON, S.C. -- NeoNova, an industry leader in cloud-based services for regional telcos and managed cloud services providers, today announced that through the company’s NeoNova Cares program, more children are now riding new bicycles in the Lowcountry of South Carolina this fall. Since 1994, The Spokes Group has given away 18,602 bicycles to children. The Spokes Group Charleston Chapter was founded in 2010 by two Charleston-area families to expand the group’s mission of providing bicycles to underprivileged young people in the greater Charleston area. Thanks to NeoNova's recent contribution during a team-building exercise at the NeoNova University - Affiliate Summit earlier this month at the Charleston Harbor Resort & Marina, Spokes Group Charleston is now 10 more bicycles closer to their Christmas goal of 200 this year.

“The Spokes Group Charleston has helped thousands of citizens make a connection with thousands of children,” said Hope Caldwell, co-founder of The Spokes Group Charleston. “We would like to thank the NeoNova team for their hard work and dedication to The Spokes Group Charleston and the children it serves. Without generous hearts like yours our work would not be possible.”

As a full-service technology arm for the National Rural Telecommunications Cooperative (NRTC), NeoNova enables regional ISPs and businesses of all sizes to focus on what they do best; taking care of their customers and breaking the “digital divide” between rural and urban markets. NeoNova Cares is the philanthropic arm of the company and is active throughout the year supporting local communities. The integrated program of product, time and profits remains an integral part of NeoNova’s business and partnering strategy in the community. The company also remains committed to donating one percent of its employees’ time annually to a non-profit venture of their choice.

“NeoNova helps companies connect and communicate with their community, and we wanted a chance to bring the same corporate philosophy to Charleston during our recent visit to the Lowcountry,” said Ray Carey, CEO of NeoNova. “No price tag can be placed on the joy it brought to both giver and recipient in this case, and we are looking forward to making even more positive contributions in local communities throughout the country.”

NeoNova is a finalist for a "Civic Good" Beacon Award this year through the North Carolina Technology Association for developing and/or implementing technology that improves a community or for providing a positive impact as a for-profit company with community service. The winner will be named Nov. 6 during the NC Tech Awards in Raleigh.
