North Carolina Ranks in Top 10 States for 2013 Governors Cup Awards

RALEIGH, N.C.--The winners of the 2013 Site Selection Governors Cup have been announced, and North Carolina ranked 7th out of all 50 states with 223 total projects in the past year. The Governors Cup has awarded the U.S. state with the most new and expanded corporate facilities annually since 1978, as tracked by Conway Data Inc.'s New Plant Database. Additionally, Site Selection announced The Top Metros and Micros for new and expanded corporate facilities in 2013. Lumberton, North Carolina tied at 10th for Top U.S. Micropolitans New and Expanded Facilities in 2013, and Greensboro-High Point, North Carolina ranked 4th as a Top 10 Metro Area: Tier Two New and Expanded Facilities in 2013 (metros with population 200,000 to 1 million).
